We manufacture both Rotary Head Dismantlers and Bandsaw Dismantlers.

2. What is a Rotary Head Dismantler?

A Rotary Head Dismantler consists of a set of round discs which overlap like a pair of scissors and cut the nail between the deck board and stringer. The Basic Pass One and Basic Pass Two are Rotary Head Dismantlers.

3. Should I use a Rotary Head Dismantler or a Bandsaw Dismantler?

Typically a Rotary Head Dismantler is used to remove individual stringers from a pallet for repair and a Bandsaw Dismantler is used to totally dismantle the pallet for maximum wood recovery.

4. Are Bandsaw Dismantlers safe?

When used in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications the Bandsaw Dismantler is a safe machine to operate. We now offer an optional safety brake on Bandsaw Dismantlers. To see an example of the safety brake, visit the Wolverine II product page.

5. What equipment do you have for removing pallet lead boards?

There are two primary machines for lead board removal. The first is our Clipper Lead Board Remover. This is the best lead board remover on the market. This machine can remove lead boards in as little as 3 to 4 seconds, and in most cases the lead board can be recovered to be used again on the pallet, thereby reducing lumber costs.

The second machine is our Bandsaw Lead Board Remover, which is equipped with a set of fingers that slide into the pallet under the top boards and guide the blade between the deck boards and stringer. This reduces the effort required to align the blade for cutting.

6. Why does your equipment cost more than "Brand X"?

First, we need to distinguish between "cost" and "value". There are other machines on the market that may look similar to ours that cost less, but they are typically not as stoutly built and require significantly more maintenance. As in most things you get what you pay for. Industrial Resources designs equipment to be top quality and provide you with a quick return investment. We have been manufacturing equipment for over 13 years and currently have sold equipment throughout the U.S., Canada and several overseas countries. These sales are due to our proven quality and attention to detail.

When we install the equipment at a customer's facility we highly recommend that the customer have their maintenance personnel work with our installers for hands-on training. We also have technical support by phone Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.

Pallet Repair Systems Questions.

1. How can I reduce labor costs, increase productivity and increase profits?

Every customer's situation is unique but there are consistent patterns throughout the pallet repair industry that, when corrected, can greatly improve productivity, reduce labor costs, and increase profits. The first step is to analyze your present method of operation and then identify where improvements can be made. We do offer a fee based consultation service to help our customers identify areas for improvement.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. If I automate my pallet repair operation how many people do I need to process 1,500 pallets per shift?

Everyone's situation is different, but typically a Clipper operator can process about 1,500 pallets per shift which, when used with an automated conveyor system, can keep three repair tables busy. Then, depending on whether you choose to have a Quality Control Inspector sort your pallets, or have them automatically routed into stackers via a bar code label system, 4 to 5 people are needed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Who else is using your equipment in my area?

We have a database to identify customers by equipment that they have purchased and by location to help locate people for referrals throughout the U.S. and Canada.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. Do I have to pre-sort my pallets to use your repair system?

No. Pallet sortation is accomplished at the Clipper Lead Board Remover. Pallets are typically identified as repairable, non-repairable, no repair needed, plater pallets, etc. and can easily be routed to a desired work station from the Clipper.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. How much does a pallet repair system that can produce 1,500 pallets per shift cost?

Here again, every system is unique. The first step is an on-site consultation visit to determine exactly what your operation needs to enable it to operate at peak efficiency. We try to incorporate existing equipment into our systems whereever possible to keep costs to a minimum.
